The murder of Seth Rich appears to be a basis for Crossfire Hurricane.

The Office of the Inspector General, United States Department of Justice, released a report to the public on December 2019 on the origins of “Crossfire Hurricane:” Review of Four FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation.

The report uses the term “election reporting” or “election related” around 150 times to describe the reports of Christopher Steele. Some highlights:

ii. Although not mentioned in the EC, at the time, FBI officials involved in opening the investigation had reason to believe that Russia may have been connected to the Wikileaks disclosures that occurred earlier in July 2016, and were aware of information regarding Russia’s efforts to interfere with the 2016 U.S. elections. These officials, though, did not become aware of Steele’s election reporting until weeks later and we therefore determined that Steele’s reports played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening.

v. However, immediately after the Crossfire Hurricane team received Steele’s election reporting on September 19, the team reinitiated their discussions with OI and their efforts to obtain FISA surveillance authority for Page, which they received from the FISC on October 21.

But there exists another type of “Steele reports,” according to Buzzfeed. The category other than “election-related,” as the IG Report uses frequently, could be described as “murder-related.” On March 27, 2018 Buzzfeed reported The US Death Of Putin’s Media Czar Was Murder, Trump Dossier Author Christopher Steele Tells The FBI that “The FBI possesses a secret report asserting that Vladimir Putin’s former media czar was beaten to death by hired thugs in Washington, DC — directly contradicting the US government’s official finding that Mikhail Lesin died by accident. The report, according to four sources who have read all or parts of it, was written by the former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele…”

Not one politician or “mainstream media” outlet has said a word about the Buzzfeed article claiming that Steele gave a murder report to the FBI. There’s no mention in the IG Report of “homicide,” “murder,” “Seth Rich,” or “Mikhail Lesin” either, just the persistent lengthy drumbeat that “election reporting” was not a basis for the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

And the IG Report doesn’t quite say what the basis for Crossfire Hurricane was. It implies it.

ii. As we describe in Chapter Three, the FBI opened Crossfire Hurricane on July 31, 2016, just days after its receipt of information from a Friendly Foreign Government (FFG) reporting that, in May 2016, during a meeting with the FFG, then Trump campaign foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos “suggested the Trump team had received some kind of suggestion from Russia that it could assist this process with the anonymous release of information during the campaign that would be damaging to Mrs. Clinton (and President Obama).”

The IG report the date Crossfire Hurricane began as July 31. Interviewing Peter Strzok at the House Judiciary, John Ratcliffe, R-TX, noted the date to be July 27. July 27 could perhaps be the date that the FBI received a report from a “Friendly Foreign Government” about how George Papadopoulos had a few drinks in a bar and let some facts spill about Hillary Clinton’s emails. Then the investigation was formalized on July 31.

Again, the IG Report states that “election reporting” of Christopher Steele was not a basis for Crossfire Hurricane. It states that Crossfire Hurricane began days after the FBI received the FFG report on Papadopoulos, but it does not state that the FFG report was the basis for Crossfire Hurricane.

And the IG Report acknowledges that Steele provided “not election related” reports to the FBI from July to October 2016.

Christopher Steele was hired by Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS in June 2016, according to the IG Report and numerous other reports. Seth Rich was murdered July 10, 2016. Steele provided two classes of reports to the FBI: Election related, and “not election related.” Buzzfeed says at least one of the “not election related” reports pertained to the murder of Mikhail Lesin.

Speculating, I just don’t see how Christopher Steele could be hired to research for Hillary in June without Steele writing some sort of summary on the murder of a DNC staffer on July 10. The timeline fits very neatly that after Rich was murdered July 10, and Steele wrote something on it, which found its way to the FBI somehow, and that formed a basis for Crossfire Hurricane on July 31. And if my suspicions are correct, that casts the FFG report of Papadopoulos, days before July 31, in the role of a parallel construction to create an implied, but unstated, basis for Crossfire Hurricane.

Also, the IG Report is not above referencing media reports. Although the IG report did not discuss Buzzfeed’s March 2018 article on Steele’s report on Mikhail Lesin that the FBI possessed, the IG does report other media reports, including a “Mother Jones article on November 1,” and a “September 23 Yahoo News article.” There’s obviously a huge omission.

How many “not election related” reports were there? The IG report classified that. It seems to be an odd thing to classify: the actual number of reports. The IG Report is a long document. They talk at length describing how Steele’s “election reporting” was not a basis for Crossfire Hurricane, but then they put the little black box up over the actual number of reports? If there was nothing related to Steele’s work that formed a basis for Crossfire Hurricane, would the IG classify the number of reports? What’s so important about the number? Maybe Congress might ask for an accounting of them all? I hope so.

No later than August 10, we see that someone (it looks like Strzok from the email chain, but I’m not sure) “squashed” a discussion related to Seth Rich “with” some redacted method.

The OIG and FBI appear to be deceiving the American public, not lying per se. Just because 99.9% of the IG report content says essentially that Steele’s “election reporting” was not a basis for Crossfire Hurricane, and that Crossfire Hurricane started days after the “FFG report,” they never said that the FFG report was the basis for Crossfire Hurricane, or that any of Steele’s “non election reports” were not the basis for Crossfire Hurricane. That’s what they want us to think, but they don’t say it.

The FBI has not said that it that it did not investigate the murder of Seth Rich. It says it couldn’t locate any records on it based on their search methods. The FBI even noted that courts have held that the FBI’s search methods need not be perfect, but only reasonable. In other words, the FBI likely deliberately conducted their search for records on Seth Rich in a manner that would provide negative results.

With Christopher Steele’s sources having connections to Russia, if Steele did write a report on Seth Rich while working for Hillary, it seems likely to me that this report would have a “Russia did it” theme to it. I feel this way in large part because I wrote my own version of “Russia did it” on July 24, 2017.

I had a bit of the red/blue bias at the time, on the side of blue. And many facts did point to Russia. After years of research, however, I’ve grown to look at things in a “global” manner. You can read my other articles to see that, stating with this one on Ghislaine Maxwell and the United Nations. I’ve since reported that I think at least part of the “Steele Dossier” was designed to be a red herring distraction. And I am now prepared to think that other parts of the Steele reports were designed to be distractions in the same way, including the “non election related” reports unseen by the public or Congress.

But I don’t want to fall into the deep end of theory here about why I think Seth Rich was murdered. What I want to say here is simply that I’m tired of guessing. I shouldn’t have to, and neither should you or the family of Seth Rich. We need transparency and honesty from our government. We’re not getting it.

Bring Strzok back to Congress, make him swear an Oath and demand that he answer the question “did the murder of Seth Rich have anything to do with Crossfire Hurricane.” Classifications of evidence be damned. They’ve had long enough to investigate if that’s what they were trying to do. Both political parties in the United States should be outraged by this for one reason or another. Please tell your representatives in Congress that you want a full accounting of the origins of Crossfire Hurricane because the IG Report omitted key facts and overemphasized others in a deceptive manner.
