Inside the world’s most luxurious superyachts, kitted out with Hollywood film studios, disco rooms & infinity pools – Bukipress

MORE Superyachts are being built than ever before as the rich and famous decide a normal private yacht just won’t cut it anymore.

The newest boats are coming equipped with everything needed to do some ocean exploring and help save the planet.

The huge vessels boast massive bedrooms and more

Research released last week showed boat makers have seen 23 privately commissioned 100 meter plus yachts ordered this year- up from 18 orders two years ago.

Celebrities from the Beckhams to Beyoncé and Jay-Z are known to be partial to the boats as are the billionaires not in the lime light.

Here, we look to see what these huge boats offer to their millionaire owners.

This yacht combines luxury with science

Name: REV Ocean

Price: Aprox £263,677,750

Size: 183 meters

Special features: Three Swimming pools and 35-seat auditorium

Owner: Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke

The REV Ocean is the biggest boat being built this year at 183 meters long.

Once finished it will claim the title of the largest privately owned superyacht in the world.

Despite it’s three swimming pools, the vessel will mainly be used for research in the arctic by owner Kjell.

It comes complete with a 35-seater auditorium, a private helicopter, a three-person submarine and a remotely operated vehicle which can examine the ocean floor.

It’s still under construction and won’t be delivered until sometime next year.

When under charter there can be up to 28 people on the yacht, alongside a 54 man crew.

Unlike the superyachts of the past, guests coming on board will be joined by researches, educators and guides to learn more about cleaning up the ocean.

Russian-owned Eclipse used to be the biggest superyacht in the world until 2013.

The massive vessel features two swimming pools, two hot tubs and a disco room.

It also boasts two helipads, three smaller boats and a submarine which can be used by guests to explore the ocean.

With 18 guest cabins which sleep 36 guests, and a 70-strong crew, entertaining on board will certainly be easy.

The yacht, which can be chartered, is also fitted with missile detection software for security reasons.

Every winter, the huge boat is found ferrying guests in the Caribbean as they enjoy the 200m pool.

Owner:  Ray and Mark Dalio, hedge-fund billionaires

The OceanXplorer is said to be the most advanced research and exploration vessel in the world.

It has both wet and dry labs to allow scientists on board to investigate the marine life they find.

The specialist research spaces allow new species to be kept on board in aquarium tanks and scientist to look at the DNA of their finds.

The 87 metre vessel also has a number of piloted and autonomous underwater drones to explore the sea – which are able to dive more than 1000 metres deep.

It’s also fitted with a sonar array to allow the ship to map out the sea floor as it moves along allowing a picture to be built of the entire underwater eco-system.

But it’s not only a research centre… it also has a Hollywood level media production studio which was developed with Avatar director James Cameron.

Describing the new superyacht, founder and creative director, Mark Dalio, said: “OceanXplorer will allow us to pair science and media together like never before and share the excitement and wonder of ocean exploration with a global audience in real time.”

Price: £451,744,425

Size: 179 meters

Special features: Luxury spa

Owner: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates

The Azzam took four years to build and is one of the largest yachts ever made.

In 2013 it was the longest floating vessel in the world by 57 feet.

It can sleep up to 36 guests and requires a crew of 60 to keep it in working order.

The exclusive boat, which has a gym, a beauty room and a spa, can only be visited by invitation only.

Thanks to it’s size, the vessel comes with a hefty maintenance tag of £44,798,100 a year to keep it in seaworthy condition.

It seems having such a big boat is more than a one-off financial commitment.

Name: Dubai

Price: £298,850,000

Size: 162 meters

Special features: A hidden club room and cinema room

Owner: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Vice President/Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates

This yacht is the most colourful of the biggest vessels and one of the oldest too.

Dubai was finished in 2006 and retains her title as one of the world’s longest superyachts.

Inside, the vessel boasts a private cinema, dance floor, gym, hot tubs, a helipad and a swimming pool.

Her bright decoration shows off the Sheikh’s personal style for his floating home.

Given the boats wealthy owner, it’s unsurprising that Dubai cannot be chartered by ordinary guests.

If you want to get on board this boat, you’ll need to be invited by the Sheikh himself.

The billionaire’s playground

It is one of the largest bespoke yachts on the water

Name: Dilbar

Price: £747,645,000

Size: 157 meters

Special features: Largest indoor pool on a yacht

Owner: Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov

This vessel is basically a castle floating on the water as it claims the title of largest yacht – not for length but the footage inside.

A crew of 96 is required to get her going and up to 36 guests can be on the yacht.

Like most of the boats on this list, she comes with a hot tub but boasts the largest indoor pool on a yacht.

Dilbar also comes with a private cinema, a saloon with piano and large cabins on the upper deck.

Plus, like all good big boats, it has two helipads.

The vessel is thought to be going under a refurbishment at the moment – who knew it could get more fancy?

As of this year it is the third largest yacht on water and the sixth longest in the world.
